Next in line I want to present some of Plantoys’ Plancity collection. These wooden quality toys in the shape of for example trains, planes and car parks are simply beautiful with their modern, simple design. I especially like the express train with its straight lines and realistic appearance and magnetically connected carriages, as well as the city station with its arched roof and the possibility to combain Plantoys railroad and street systems. But they also have other great products apart from the Plancity range, such as their musical band which develops coordination and concentration.

Plantoys has such a huge variety, you really need to check them out for yourself. Whether you are looking for vehicles, dollhouses or play kitchens, all their products are well-made and beautifully designed. Even better, Plantoys’ products do not only have educational value and provide many hours of happy playing, they are also eco-friendly, wooden toys with longevity that do not run on batteries, are great choice for sure!

Available at Moolka, musical band $49.99, water blocks $24.99, city station $79.99, sit n walk puppy $18.99, express train $14.99.

Imagiplay’s imaginative animal puzzles, beauty in wood

Today’s last items are Imagiplay‘s wooden puzzles.  I have to say, these are not the ordinary wooden toddler puzzles you see so many times.  Not only are their designs amazingly detailed and creative, but most are actually made for kindergarten or preschool children.  Some of their animal puzzles are composed of complete animal puzzle pieces so they can be used not only for puzzling, but for playing farm or jungle as well.  Imagiplay’s product range is so huge, kids will surely find their favorite animal.  From safari to sealife, or from farm to nativity scene, it’s all available!

To make things even better, these puzzles are handcrafted and handpainted from plantation wood, so they are eco-friendly as well! Plus, Imagiplay’s products are so beautiful, you want to display them on the shelves for everybody to see, and they look just perfect together in combination with the other animal objects presented today.  Here are two of my favorites (though I’m not really sure I do have a favorite, I just love them all!) aren’t the animal shaped pieces awesome:

Available in the Imagiplay online store. Animal alphabet $49.99, dinosaur puzzle $19.99,

Enchanted forest felt design by Mijnes

Is there any other word for these bags than beauuutiful?? Wow, these handmade bags with felt decoration by Dutch brand Mijnes are simply gorgeous! And not only are there styles for boys and girls, but for moms as well. I suppose there will be a wide competition on who gets what, as they have a big collection ranging from diaper bags to pillows and crib bags (and many more), all equally unique.

Unfortunately though, I need to slow your enthusiam, because all their amazing and detailed designs make the production of these items quite labor intensive, which shows in the price tag. But if you don’t mind shelling out 99€ for a crib bag, or 225€ for a diaper bag e.g., then they’re yours!

Available at the Mijnes website.

Fun with felt: Twinkle Kids Tags

After just having presented these gorgeous felt clips below, I thought I’d stick with the theme of felt.  So if you have already ordered the full line of giddygiddy accessories and are now wondering how to wrap them in style, I have a suggestion for matching felt gift tags from Twinkle Kids.

These cool gift cards are handmade in USA, and for the eco-conscious parents, it’s good to know their felt is Öko-Tex Standard 100 certified.  A “witty card”, as they call it fits into the front, to personalize your gift.

I was just thinking that these tags are actually too nice to be simple gift tags which, although reusable, would still most of the time hidden in some drawer, stuffed together with gift wrap and ribbons. Why not make luggage tags of them? They would surely spice up a plain bag!

It’s Swedish Sunday: Timeless toys from Playsam

Well, I decided to have a regional focus on Sweden today, since there is such a great variety of inspiring children’s design coming from this country.  And which other toy-maker could be more synonymous for great, timeless toy design than Playsam‘s streamliners, small wooden cars with the look and feel of a modern design classic, and excellently reflecting Playsam’s philosophy of producing toys that are “Classic and contemporary. Fanciful and functional. Simple and sophisticated.”

Though their toys are certainly not the cheapest compared to other wooden toys, the combination of great quality and timeless design will surely make them not only a child’s, but also a parent’s favorite, and a treasured heirloom for centuries.  Moreover, if you consider the longevity of Playsam toys and the fact that no batteries or electricity is needed, these wooden favorites may actually be less expensive in the long-run than some cheap battery-operated competitors.  Well, for the environmental impact, this is true in any case. So now you can have a good conscience and buy some eco-friendly toys without having to compromise style.  Now isn’t that invaluable?

Available at ScandinavianDesignCenter, starting at € 36,56 for the Streamliner Classic Organic.
